What is a "FAQ"?
FAQ stands for frequently asked questions. This page has the answers to many common questions people have asked regarding the intramural LD program.
What is Intramural Debate?
Intramural debate is an opportunity for Lincoln Douglas and Team Policy debaters to participate in regular debate rounds prior to the start of the NCFCA competive season.
How do the debates work?
The students will arrange a time slot with a volunteer judge. The debates will be online via Skype, DimDim or some other type of chat software.
Will there be there instructions?
Yes, step by step instructions will be provided.
How many debates will there be?
There will be 12 debates over a 13 week period. The pairings will be sent out on a weekly basis. The students are free to arrange their four debates at any time during the week.

What is required to participate?
What does a judge have to do?
Each judge will indicate when during a week they are available to judge a debate (This can be changed as needed). It is the responsibility of the student debaters to email the judge and set up a debate. The students will then update the judge calendar to indicate that the judge is no longer available for that week. The judge will provide verbal feedback on who won, speaker points and a verbal critique of the debate round. The students will post the result to the web site.
Can the Judge change their availability?
Yes, the judge can modify their judging window at any time by email.

Do I have to be an advanced debater to participate?
Intramural debate is open to all levels of debate experience. After the first two rounds, the remaining rounds will be power matched to provide everyone with competitive debate rounds.
I am an alumni, can I volunteer to judge?
YES! Just send an email to EarlyBirdDebate@gmail.com with what weeks you are able to judge and you will be added to the judge list.
